ABOUT DJ CBREEZY

It all started back in September of 2008 when my passion for Dj-ing was reignited. I found myself always attending events or programs in which there were non-dependable dj's, poor presentation and just lackluster music programming. One day, I was assisting with an organization on an event and found myself having to literally hold a mic to a small boom box for music during a live musical performance. One word: TACKEY!!  After that, I vowed that I would never find myself in that type of situation again. Lacking the correct music, inadequate equipment, or improper presentation. Thus, the birth of DJ CBreezy!

I've grown up around music all my life starting way back singing in the church choir as a child and learning to play different instruments throughout grammar school. It wasn't until 7th grade that my real music teachings begin. I enrolled into a music program developing students to become members of the award winning high school marching band. At the same time, Rap and Hip-Hop music was on the cusp of gaining global momentum and Djs were the driving force behind it all…. this fed my desire to listen & learn music. A few of my friends were able to gain access to turntables and we played around with them from time to time after school. This gave me a foundation for listening & learning the art of beat matching.

After a stellar high school marching and concert band career, I became a seasoned percussionist. This laid the foundation for understanding beat making & producing music. After graduation, I decided to pursue band while in college with one of the best known & legendary H.B.C.U. college bands in the land, The Norfolk State University Spartan Legion ("Million Dollar Funk Squad") percussion section. I played & performed briefly in college, but later gave into the demands of my classes versus the long hours of band practice, notating that I wasn't a music major, but a business major.

Nevertheless, many years passed and those music influences lay dormant until 2008. I spent 8 months studying & experimenting with DJ software to understand this technology. Although, I came up in the era of old school records & turntables, the advancements in midi DJ controllers, hard drives, powered speakers, and laptops afforded me a new beginning and spawn another opportunity for me to really indulge and learn to dj once more. My love of this profession has taken me to places that I could not have ever imagined. Such places as VA Fashion week events, NY Fashion week events along side TV celebrities, hired by NFL and NBA players, Top models, famous recording artist, major Military events and countless proms, parties, weddings, & cookouts.
